Paul Matthyssens

Prof. Dr. Paul Matthyssens is Dean of Antwerp Management School and is Professor of Global Strategic Management and Strategic Marketing at Antwerp Management School and at the University of Antwerp. He received the best Full-time master teacher award in 2014. He is a visiting professor at Danish Technical University Business School in Lyngby (DK) and Fordham University (USA).

Dr. Matthyssens published more than 100 articles in top academic journals. His research interests include business and industrial marketing, value innovation, global strategy, industry transformation, business modeling and purchasing strategy.

Matthyssens serves on several editorial boards of academic journals. He advised companies and trained managers of companies such as ERIKS EU/USA, SD Worx, Roche, Fabricom-Suez, Asco, Barco, SKF, Proximus, Atlas Copco, Finmeccanica, and Oiltanking. He advised sector federations in Belgium and The Netherlands on industry convergence and transition, and supports the provincial authorities of Antwerp on their industrial policy and on their business incubation centers. Matthyssens was member of the Industry Council of the Flemish Minister-President (2010-2014). He received a Royal Award in the Netherlands for ‘extraordinary contributions to the field of industrial marketing and the stimulation of the competitiveness of Dutch industry’: ‘Officier in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau’ (June 2015).
